We went to the park today with some of our friends from MOPS. We played on the swings, went down the slide, teetered and on the teeter totter and of course played in the sand. After all that I found this cool bridge and practiced walking across it. It was tricky to walk up and down it, but I figured it out!

New Shoes

I got a new pair of shoes today. I've had my old ones a really long time - since I was 6 months old. It was time for a new pair. My new shoes are awesome! The Pediped shoes have a flexible sole that's good for walking, but the sole is harder than the Robeez shoes - better for playing outside!

Eating with a Spoon
My newest skill: eating with a spoon! I think I'm finally getting the hang of it! Although I still think it's easier just to eat with my hands.

Gilroy Gardens

I went to my first amusement park today! I had a great time! We went on several rides, but my favorite part was playing in the water park. There were lots of kids to watch and play with and water EVERYWHERE! It shot up out of the ground and fell from the sky. It was sooooooo cool. I had a great time and didn't want to leave.

Father's Day
Mom and me took Dad out to lunch for Father's Day after church. We ate at Phil's Fish Market in Moss Landing. We had some of the best clam chowder ever. Ok, it was my first time eating clam chowder, but it was really good. And my parents let me use my own spoon to feed myself. Only a small percentage made it into my mouth, but they say practice makes perfect (seems to me that practice just makes a mess, not that I mind).
After lunch we went out to the beach and played in the sand. This video makes it sound windier than it was. Mom built me lots of sand castles to destroy and Daddy took me down to get my feet wet in the really big bathtub (they called it the ocean). The water sure was cold! They should probably look into seeing if their hot water heater is working properly.

SOOO BIG!
My parents sure do get excited when I put my hands up in the air. At first it bothered me, I'm not a dog - I shouldn't have to perform tricks on demand. But the more I thought about the more I realized that in a lot of ways I've got them trained. I do think it's a little odd that my Mom doesn't know where I am when I'm hiding under my blanket. Where's Carson? Doesn't she have a degree from Berkeley? You would think they would require their graduates to have at least mastered the concept of object permanence before letting them leave with their doctorate! Even I understand that.

Moss Landing

Today we went with some of our MOPS friends to Moss Landing. It was a lot of fun. We brought my new sand toys and I had a lot of fun putting sand in the bucket and taking it back out again.

I got to play with my buddy Quinn as well as some new friends. There was a lot sand and bark to eat. Quinn and I had a competition to see who could eat the most without their mom noticing. I think Quinn won, but it was close.

My First Camping Trip

We went camping this weekend. It was great! Instead of going to sleep I got to crawl on top of Mommy and Daddy and play in all the blankets and pillows. Then we got up REALLY early and I got to play with dirt, sticks, leaves and all kinds of cool stuff. It was a little hard to walk - the ground was uneven and there were a lot of rocks that tripped me up. But I eventually figured it out. We went on a hike and I got to ride on Daddy's back in my carrier. I had a lot of fun. The only bad part was that it took a really long time to get to the camp spot and then back home again. I don't want to go in my carseat again for a really long time.

Alien Abduction!

Today I was just practicing my new walking skills out in the living room, when a giant alien machine jumped out and bit me on the face. Mommy said it was an elliptical machine, but it didn’t look round to me.
Mommy tried to save me. We ran away in the car and hid in a small boring room for, like, 15 hours. But the aliens must have found us, because next thing you know I was being held down by no less than FOUR people and probed by shadowy creatures with masks and bright spotlights.
I fought with all my might and screamed and kicked to get away, but they were too strong. When I grow up, I’ll be big like Daddy and KICK THEIR BUTTS! They tied me up and jammed needles in my face over an over again. You know, I’m still learning a lot about this world. I admit I don’t know everything. But I was born knowing this much: needles do not belong in your face!
Mommy finally rescued me and we went back home again, but I’m gonna have to stay up all night to watch out for those elliptical aliens again.
