Christmas

I very much enjoyed my first Christmas. There were a lot of boxes to climb on, brightly colored paper to tear and my absolute favorite - bows to play with! My parents got really excited about the stuff in the boxes and kept trying to get me to play the toys instead, but I still say the bows and boxes were the best. They took away all the fun stuff though and left behind the toys. So now I'm playing with them, but I hope we do Christmas again soon so that I can have new boxes to climb on and more bows to play with.

6 month check-up
Today I had my 6 month check-up. Everything was great until the evil nurse lady came in with the sharp pointy things that hurt my legs. I really don't like the nurse lady. But the doctor was nice and said I was doing good. I weigh 15lbs and 9oz, which is a little small according to the doctor (10th percentile) but I'm still gaining weight so it's ok. I'm also 26 inches tall (22nd percentile). He was really impressed with all my new skills and told mommy he thought I'd be walking by 8 1/2 months. I've got to get busy if I'm going to meet that goal! My mouth has been hurting a lot - and the doctor said that I have 8 teeth ready to come in! Two of which should break through really soon. So I guess I'll have to start singing that song "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth." Because once I have them, my mouth won't hurt as much, right?

Major Progress
In the last couple of weeks I have made excellent progress in becoming more mobile. 2 weeks ago I learned to sit up on my own, last week I learned how to crawl and just this morning I figured out how to pull myself up into a standing position!
With my new skills I have discovered all kinds of cool things - like how much fun it is to pull magazines and coasters off the coffee table, play with the presents under the Christmas tree and knock over mommy's plants! I have to take advantage of my new "finds" the first time, though. As soon as I find something neat to play with, mom takes it away and puts it up higher - out of my reach. So NOT cool.
