Christmas

Christmas rocks! I got sooooo many new toys that I haven't even been able to play with them all yet! I really love this toy motorcycle that I got in my stocking. It's really cool. Mom says I can't have a real motorcycle, but I bet my Grandpa will get me one just like his when I get older!
And now I can play Rockband and Guitar Hero with dad with my new guitar! Very cool.

My parents also let me tell everyone that I'm going to be a big brother next summer (can you read my shirt in the picture?)! I'm not quite sure what that means, but everyone seemed really excited!
Here is a picture of me with my Grandparents and cousins.

We went to Gilroy Gardens again this last weekend! What a blast! This time I got to ride on the big-kid rides ALL BY MYSELF!
First I got ride in these cool race cars:

Then I got to drive a fire truck!

And finally I got to ride these really fast flying Goldfish!

My parents were really impressed. Here is some video footage of the day:

Fall
Wow! A lot has happened since I last posted on my blog. I have some fun new pictures to share with you all.
We went to the Story Festival at Salinas Adult School (where I have my Movers & Shakers Toddler Class). It was really neat! They had fun games, farm animals and activities all based on nursery rhymes. I got to meet the Muffin Man (and he gave me a ginger muffin!), meet Mother Goose (much smaller than I imagined) and pretend to bake my own Pat-A-Cake (playdoh). My favorite activity was playing with the bubbles. I’m not sure what nursery rhyme went with that activity, maybe Rub-a-Dub-Dub?

Then, just this week we went to the Pumpkin Patch. There were some really, REALLY BIG pumpkins there. Way bigger than me. There were also a lot of smaller pumpkins too. Here are some pictures from our adventure at the Pumpkin Patch. In the first pictures I’m tasting the hay. Eh. Kind of bland.

Words
I'm making progress on this language thing. I understand a lot of words and phrases. I know ball, car, outside, etc. But I can SAY: "Daddy", "juice", "shoes" and "no!" Oh and I know a few signs too! "More" and "All done" have been VERY useful.

Fall Frolic
We went to the fall festival at our church today. What a blast! There were carnival games, bounce houses, cookies and prizes! I had so much fun!
I got to dress up like a Tiger (just like Truman, the Mizzou mascot!). I didn't want to wear the tiger hat though. I had to put my foot down with Mom and Dad on that one. I think they got the message. But other than that, it was a great day!
I got to go on the biggest, tallest slide EVER! We had to go up, up, up!

And then down, down, down REALLY FAST!

It was so fun! Daddy and I went down the slide 3 times!

The we played with this fun hamster-wheel like things. It was great!

After we were done playing all the games I got to take my tickets and pick out cool new toys. I got several things - including these very cool sunglasses.

Check out this bump!

This is my best bump yet! I was running around the living room when all of the sudden one of the dining room chairs jumped out and hit my head! Ok, maybe I ran into the chair, but regardless it's a really cool bump, right?
Oh and if you're wondering about the scratch above my eye - that was when I tried, unsuccessfully to go up the down escalator at the mall on Saturday. They should post warning signs. Those things are dangerous. Fun but dangerous.

Vacation!
We went on vacation this last week. I got to see my grandparents, my Aunt Becca and my cousins. It was a lot of fun. Here's a picture of me with my cousins Aleczander and Izabella.

Early in the week I got to go swimming in Aunt Becca's pool. I tried surfing and thought I did pretty good for my first try!

Grandma and Grandpa have lots of cool toys in their backyard. I really liked the barn! I got to open and close the doors and windows and rearrange the milk barrel chairs inside. The bubbles were also cool!

We went to a pizza place that had a lot of fun games and rides too! I got to ride a horse and go on the merry go around with my cousins. Super fun!

Mom and Dad left for their anniversary weekend and I got to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa on my own for a few days. We had a lot of fun. Grandma took me on walks in the morning, took me shopping for new clothes and let me play in the backyard a lot. But at the end of the week it was time to go home.
Vacations (and long drives) are exhausting!

After we got home I helped mom unpack the suitcases.

Another day at the park
We went to the park today with some of our friends from MOPS. We played on the swings, went down the slide, teetered and on the teeter totter and of course played in the sand. After all that I found this cool bridge and practiced walking across it. It was tricky to walk up and down it, but I figured it out!

New Shoes

I got a new pair of shoes today. I've had my old ones a really long time - since I was 6 months old. It was time for a new pair. My new shoes are awesome! The Pediped shoes have a flexible sole that's good for walking, but the sole is harder than the Robeez shoes - better for playing outside!

Eating with a Spoon
My newest skill: eating with a spoon! I think I'm finally getting the hang of it! Although I still think it's easier just to eat with my hands.

Gilroy Gardens

I went to my first amusement park today! I had a great time! We went on several rides, but my favorite part was playing in the water park. There were lots of kids to watch and play with and water EVERYWHERE! It shot up out of the ground and fell from the sky. It was sooooooo cool. I had a great time and didn't want to leave.

Father's Day
Mom and me took Dad out to lunch for Father's Day after church. We ate at Phil's Fish Market in Moss Landing. We had some of the best clam chowder ever. Ok, it was my first time eating clam chowder, but it was really good. And my parents let me use my own spoon to feed myself. Only a small percentage made it into my mouth, but they say practice makes perfect (seems to me that practice just makes a mess, not that I mind).
After lunch we went out to the beach and played in the sand. This video makes it sound windier than it was. Mom built me lots of sand castles to destroy and Daddy took me down to get my feet wet in the really big bathtub (they called it the ocean). The water sure was cold! They should probably look into seeing if their hot water heater is working properly.

SOOO BIG!
My parents sure do get excited when I put my hands up in the air. At first it bothered me, I'm not a dog - I shouldn't have to perform tricks on demand. But the more I thought about the more I realized that in a lot of ways I've got them trained. I do think it's a little odd that my Mom doesn't know where I am when I'm hiding under my blanket. Where's Carson? Doesn't she have a degree from Berkeley? You would think they would require their graduates to have at least mastered the concept of object permanence before letting them leave with their doctorate! Even I understand that.

Moss Landing

Today we went with some of our MOPS friends to Moss Landing. It was a lot of fun. We brought my new sand toys and I had a lot of fun putting sand in the bucket and taking it back out again.

I got to play with my buddy Quinn as well as some new friends. There was a lot sand and bark to eat. Quinn and I had a competition to see who could eat the most without their mom noticing. I think Quinn won, but it was close.

My First Camping Trip

We went camping this weekend. It was great! Instead of going to sleep I got to crawl on top of Mommy and Daddy and play in all the blankets and pillows. Then we got up REALLY early and I got to play with dirt, sticks, leaves and all kinds of cool stuff. It was a little hard to walk - the ground was uneven and there were a lot of rocks that tripped me up. But I eventually figured it out. We went on a hike and I got to ride on Daddy's back in my carrier. I had a lot of fun. The only bad part was that it took a really long time to get to the camp spot and then back home again. I don't want to go in my carseat again for a really long time.

Alien Abduction!

Today I was just practicing my new walking skills out in the living room, when a giant alien machine jumped out and bit me on the face. Mommy said it was an elliptical machine, but it didn’t look round to me.
Mommy tried to save me. We ran away in the car and hid in a small boring room for, like, 15 hours. But the aliens must have found us, because next thing you know I was being held down by no less than FOUR people and probed by shadowy creatures with masks and bright spotlights.
I fought with all my might and screamed and kicked to get away, but they were too strong. When I grow up, I’ll be big like Daddy and KICK THEIR BUTTS! They tied me up and jammed needles in my face over an over again. You know, I’m still learning a lot about this world. I admit I don’t know everything. But I was born knowing this much: needles do not belong in your face!
Mommy finally rescued me and we went back home again, but I’m gonna have to stay up all night to watch out for those elliptical aliens again.
