The Park

Daddy, Mommy, Lichen and Me all went to the park this weekend. It's not unusual for us to go to the park, but normally we just go and throw the ball for Lichen so he can chase it. But this weekend, Mommy and Daddy let me play at the playground.

First we tried the swing. That was really cool. Way better than the green one in the kitchen they used to put me in when I was little. This one was high up off the ground and Mommy pushed me and I then I went away from Mommy and then I was close to Mommy and then far away from Mommy and then close to Mommy again. Over and over. I couldn't help but laugh every time I almost hit Mommy. Swings are fun!

After the swing they put me down in the sand. I tried to put the sand in my mouth to see what it tasted like, but it slipped through my fingers before I could get any in my mouth. I'll have to work on that more next time. I also got to crawl on the grass while Lichen chased his ball. Man was that weird. These green prickly things felt really weird against my hands. I couldn't figure out how to pull them up so I could taste them, but I did find a leaf. I got a little taste of that before Mommy took it away. Not bad.

And finally before we left I got to go down the slide. Mommy held me while I slid down and Daddy caught me at the bottom. It was neat. But I think it would be better if Mom would let me gain a little more speed and let go. I'll have to practice my technique so I can do it by myself.
